I've alway's loved the look of the '73-'77 GM A-bodie's, my Dad had a '73 Cutlass Supreme 2dr new. My first car was a '77 Grand Leman's 2dr. I've had many Pontiac A-bodie's over the year's but I have alway's kept my white '75 G/A 2dr that I bought in '89. I also have a blue '75 G/A 2dr that I have started working on.
If anyone has or know's of a rear bumper for a '75 G/A please let me know. My white '75 has most option's including the 455 4bbl, ducted hood and the power sunroof. The blue '75 has few option's but has a 400 4bbl for power. |

I also have a 73, mine is the 4-speed Safari wagon. That unfortunatly will be a long term resto as it was very very bad when I was dumb enough to buy it.
But I have never seen or heard of anouther 4-speed A body wagon, so being a wagon nut I had to have it. The 400 4bbl, 3.23 posi rear end, a/c, rally guages with indash tach, tilt, pwr steering & brakes, windows, & locks & PHS doc. didn't hurt my interest. I only wish $$$ would grow on trees so I could finish it. Maybee I need to sell the 67 sprint Lemans?

Now THAT's a nice car Jeff. Too bad about it being in bad shape. I assume the body is pretty well toast and gone at this point being a northern car?

The car was actually an export car to europe. I have no idea who originally ordered it,It was delivered to a dealer in Germany, and it is anyones guess were it went from there. It came back ti the USA in 1978 in the possesion of a USAF officer. I can trace it by DOD parking stickers on the front bumper to bases in Northern Maine & Texas.
Now the even stranger part is it was found in a salvage yard in Arizona, with a Texas salvage title by anouther wagon nut from Chicago. I bought it from him in 2002. With the odd paperwork I was suspicious of it but all the numbers on the car match & the PHS paperwork matches the story. (it even has a $7.00 export paperwork fee on it) I have found anouther 73 safari to donate its sheetmetal to the project. So I have most of the parts to finish it now I just need the $$$ & time.

That car needs to get finished! It's every wagon enthusiasts dream. 4 speed loaded cars don't grow on trees (that's likely one of very few if any more). I hear you on the money part, there just isn't enough of it to get all the projects done sometimes.

Hey Jeff:
Ever thought of just re-bodying the wagon? That's what us F-body fans have to do sometime. Rather than cut/patch/graft... just swap *everything* over onto something solid. It may mean a body-off-frame job (unless your frame is rusty too), but with a car like yours, it'd be worth it. I have a '73 GTO and a '73 GS455 that have been exposed to the elements & have rotten from the top down. Luckily my cars are 80K & are solid/complete other than the actual body shells themselves. Your car has got to be the most intriguing vehicle I have ever seen... I'd absolutely *love* to have it!! |

Thats the current thinking about the wagon, sort of been tossing it around for about a year now while we work on the house. At least I got the guarage finished to keep it out of the weather.

while I prefer my '73-'77 GM A-bodie's to be Olds (My daily driver is a 76 Cutlass Supreme) I was just willed my grandmother's 1973 GA. 220k+ miles without it being touched except for the standard up keep.
Now I just need to get it from AZ to IN |

I am an 73-77 A-body enthusiast, either two door or wagon. But I don't have one yet. I have found a 75? about a block from here. It hasn't run in 8 years. It needs work but then I can build in my way.

Tim, if you're looking for a Pontiac a-body, go to www.abodysite.com and look in the Classifieds forum. There are many links to Pontiacs for sale there all in one place. And it's a great site for us Pontiac a-body people.

Which new car? The Trans Am or Wagon?
I like them both quite a bit....my son loves them. The wagon rocks at the drive-in. During the nicer weather around these parts; they're driven as much as possible. The Trans Am however is getting a power infusion as we speak...

One more, I have a 73 Grand Am, 455-Turbo 400. Starlight Black with a black vinyl roof and saddle interior. Other than having Cragar S/S wheels on it, mine looks just like the Super Duty example at the beginning of this thread. I absolutely love this car!!

My 73 GA is originally almost exactly like yours, 455/t400, black, black vinyl top, saddle interior. Has a power sunroof too though, and someone in the past removed the vinyl top. It doesn't look very good right now, but I really look forward to restoring it this year, so I can start having fun with it!
