Hey Grand73Am,

Where did you get your tires with the combination whitewall / raised white letters? They look great. I have a 73 also that I need tires for. What is the make , size etc? Your car is very sharp. Thanks

I parted two '73 GTO's that were painted Florentine Red, and both cars had black scoops from the factory. They both were assembled in Pontiac, MI.

Hey sdx455, I've seen your car on UltimateGTO.com before and you did a nice job there. I agree that the black does look better. I have to wonder if the body colour is year specific to 73 and even then to production facility. As I mentioned I have never seen any in Canada that are body colour. Grand Am 75 verifies that in 74 they were black. Where were your cars built guys?

My 73 is a US car, coming out of Mass. ( i believe, as I dont have the paperwork with me, but do know it was from the east coast.)

Just give me the 7th Digit or Alpha in the VIN and I'll tell you where it was built. Mine left the Oshawa factory Ascot Silver.

Billygoatii said: "I think the scoop color might be dependent on where the car had final assembly." and this was one of the first posts. Looks like we can say that Oshawa ON and Pontiac MI cars had black inserts based on information posted.

Yes I see. I think colour is not a match to the metal part, looks like a different green to me, but could be the difference of paint aging on metal vs. plastic.
