Your car is now out of sight. I makes me wish mine was that nice. Green with envy. Great job even though you had to go through a lot to get there, it's worth it some times.

Thanks to everyone for the parts, expertise, and encouragement on the boards. Couldn't have finished it without the help. Cudos to all.

Kudos to you again Paul. I took the liberty of a quick cleaning up on this image of your GTO. That white bag was driving me crazy!

Real nice and subtle with the black graphics, decals & chrome Rally IIs. Really nice presentation.

What tailpipes did you use? Maybe you could ask CanAmRick to resize his posted pic (smaller) on your same topic ABody thread so your pix Pop like they do here?

So, what was the backstory on the failed color sanding w 180 grit?

The tailpipes are reproductions sold by InLine Tube. Don't want to say too much about the 3rd paint job because I don't want to say anything bad about anyone who worked on the project and there were a lot of great people. Sometimes good intentions lead to bad outcomes. The 3rd time was the charm and the paint looks fantastic. Still needs the final buff out, but they've promised no 180 grit this time. Paul~

Thx for the info and I get it re: "3rd time charm" I posted a friendly request on Your ABS thread regarding image sizing by others overpowering yours on your thread. Interested to know the final buff procedure used with decals and stripes in place?

Last items to take care of are the decals. Can anyone help with decal placement? Pictures and locations would be helpful; especially from original paint cars. Thanks, Paul~

Alvin,

Couple of updates.

1. It took four windshields, yes, four, but I finally have a windshield in place with the window moldings on.
2. I read the postings about using a VIR eliminator. I went ahead and bought one from Classic Auto Air. Works very well. Blows cold. I need it here in Western North Carolina. It's been hot.

Other than that, I've been driving it. Lots of fun and gets lots of great looks/feedback. Will be taking it to a local show this weekend.

Paul~
