May I suggest these repros from Replica Plastics?

Others have said that the nose is crap, but the corner pieces look to be better than nothing.

Thanks for the tip. Those do look a little rough. I wonder how they look finished? Can the original surrounds be saved or are they too brittle to last with new paint?

DO NOT bother with any originals. They will eventually crumble. Since Motorealm refuses to make anymore of the corner pieces, I'm afraid these are the only alternative. Since they are so small, these should work with basic bodyworking skills. I will have to buy a pair of these for mine...

I submitted a letter ot Motorealm requesting their turn signal housings. Today I got a response that they will make some in the near future. Yippee!!!!

That's positive. I hope they fit better than their nose on my car. Even though it is well constructed, it needed several hours of sanding and shaping to get it to appear like OEM fitment.

Thanks for the info Canamman. Guess we don't have much choice. My car has never had any accident damage so I hope the reproduction parts line up reasonably well. if you have any pics of when you did yours LMK and I can send you my email address.

Default 73 for me

I used the Replica Plastics units on my 73 Grand Am sedan. Like most fiberglass parts they require fitment but are pretty good for the price.

Off topic.

stobin, is your last name Tobin?

I knew a Tobin in central Illinois.
Bought a 72 Firebird off of him.

Had plates that read - NIBOT (and some #)

Hi Larry,
From the picture I see you used the Replica Plastics LeMans assembly on your GA sedan. How much body work did you have to do to them? I saw the Grand Am nose assembly and turn signal housings on their site, but they did not look too well finished. Am I incorrect on this? I do like the fact their nose assembly is made in three pieces.

The Motorealm part is a one piece nose assembly from what I have seen. However, the finish seems to be better on their parts. Can everyone that has used either chime in with their opinion of the parts they used..

With Motorealm being fiberglass, and I assume Replica Plastics being plastic. Which one will age better over time? I hope to be able to do this just once so these are important questions for me.

Thanks for any info submitted here!

I believe the nose on Larry's car is from a 75 Grand Lemans and not a Replica nose.

I bought an InDesign nose, back before Motorealm took over. It's the same nose as the Motorealm. I'm very happy with it. I still haven't finished the complete installation. I just did enough so the car could be driven. The fit is very good, and it was pretty easy to put it on. Here's a pic:

Those are Grand Am turn signal housings on my sedan. It did not have a nose when I bought it so I put a Grand Le Mans front end on it. I actually made bumper fillers for the blank spaces-they are not in the picture yet. I bought the whole Replica Plastics front end. I liked that it was 3 pieces. It was actually white gel coat fiberglass. I bought it for my white 2 door but sold it with the car. It would take way more fitting than a Motor Realm front end but was less than half the cost. I have more time than money sometimes so I went that way.

Thanks for the info on the Replica Plastics parts Larry. I was a little confused by the picture of your sedan. My car has never been damaged so I think I will go with the Motorealm nose and hope it fits as nicely as it does on Steve's Grand Am. I did not know you sold your white Grand Am. I'm still not up to speed on who owns what on this fourm. When you get a chance post or email me pics of the filler you made for your sedan.

Just an update. Things are progressing little by little. Almost done with the nose fitment and have been cleaning under the hood trying to preserve what I can an refinish what needs it. Turn signals went on the fritz so i have to chase down that issue. Flasher still work. Any recommendations?

Bad bulbs, dirty sockets, or open circuits will not allow one side to flash, but the good side will work as normal.

Default 73 for me

Hi Guy's,
Long time since my last post. The 73 Grand Am has not made much progress but I hope
to start again soon.

I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and spent over a month at the Mayo Cancer Clinic in Phoenix having a Whipple procedure to remove the cancer. It was caught early and I am now home recovering.
According to the doctor's my prognosis is very good. It will be awhile before I can do heavy work, but I am ordering parts and detailing small parts too.

With God's blessing I will be back to my original weight and strength by spring so I can continue wrenching on my Grand Am.
