Yep, it appears to be the same in the pictures, but the O'Reilly's website also shows a pump that they offer has the "big can", but when you go pick it up, it's the small can pump, wrong picture on their site. People in this thread have been trying to get ahold of the Spectra SP1304MP pump for quite some time, since it looks to be an exact replacement for the correct 1970-71 "big can" pump, but it has always been on back order. It now seems it is available from several people, so I was just wondering if anyone has used it to confirm that it is the correct big can replacement for 1970-71.

We went ahead and ordered the Spectra SP1304MP fuel pump for the 1970 YZ RA III 400 that we are currently building. Ordered it from RockAuto, I will report back here as soon as we get it to confirm if its the correct "big can" replacement for the 1970-71 Firebird.

Do you think it is just the "small can" pump advertised with the wrong pictures? Or do you think its not even in production? There are several places I've came across that says they have it. We ordered it from RockAuto, because usually they are very good about labeling stuff as being "Out of Stock" , or "No Longer Available", but the Spectra SP1304MP fuel pump didnt say any of that, and it allowed me to purchase, so hopefully it is correct!

I spoke to Spectra this morning, and they told me the SP1304MP pump is now in production, and is In Stock at their Indiana warehouse. So I can't wait until we get ours from RockAuto to see if it correct or not. I even ask Spectra if it had the "large can" on it like the picture shows it does, ans he said it is exact to what the picture represents, so lets hope so! Lol. I also ordered the FN327 Pump to Carb line from Ames, others say it is a direct bolt on as long as you use the "large can" factory style pump, along with the Qjet. During my research, it looks like the B1304MP pump is the same pump, just sold through Autozone.

Just got a Notification saying that my SP1304MP Spectra Pump shipped FedEx Ground today, so it should arrive sometime early next week. Fingers crossed that it is the correct pump!

Just as a reminder for people reading this thread, the Spectra SP1304MP shows that it is the correct "large can" pump for the 1970-71 Firebird. It is also sold as a Spectra B1304MP through Autozone

Now if the Canadian "peso" would just recover a bit, I could really afford to buy a couple in the short term!
