Due to having troubles getting a reasonably cost bracket setup for the ProCharger, I decided to bail on a boosted engine, and for the sake of getting it back on the road, am going with a 535 build.

Long story on the brackets/serp setup, but at one point was tempted to continue with what I had, knowing I would have considerable belt slip.

Sold the rotating assembly, sold the TKO-600, sold all the efi stuff I had, sold my McLeod twin disc clutch setup, and most went to funding the LeMans tribute project and replacing some of the parts I sold.

Did have an opportunity to purchase a APT Extreme TKO-600, new clutch and bell, and a few other parts.

Since I was doing a ground up on the tribute project, I had called Spotts to ask if he could squeeze machine work in on my IA2, and was going to put that in the tribute, but at the time he was 2+ years out, so I freshened up the 461 I had in the tribute.

A year ago last Oct, Spotts reached out to me asking if I was still interested in the IA2 build, and, when your name comes up, you jump on it. On xmas day, yesterday, he posted pics of the engine being fired on the test stand.

And here we are.

Here's a couple pics of the IA2 build.

You can see in the one pic it's on the run-stand, so it's pretty much done....

Cam is a custom solid roller, pretty sure Hi Tec lobes (thank you Steve C.), 260/266 @.050, 112 LSA, .420 lobes, using 1.5 rockers. Kind of mild for the displacement, but I will be running a 3.25 rear gear with the Tremec road race gear set.

So that catches the project up for the most part. I will go up in the next few weeks to pick the engine up, and start cleaning the chassis/body up so I can install it.

Guess-timated output, @ 665-675hp, gobs of torque.

I still have to finish the tribute project, so it might be a couple mo before I pick this thread back up, but figured I get going on it and not try to do it later when I have less time.

I will get more details on the engine posted, crank, rods, etc., as I get a chance.

Welcome! Yeah, had been drinkin' last night, may have to go back proof read and add disclaimers! Heheh!

Yeah, owned since '81. It was sunk in a guy's back yard for a couple years, doors open, had to use a tow truck to pull it out, and had to hose the mud out of it.

Only rust on it when I got it was lower quarters, trunk drop offs, that gap panel back there, and the usual brace/fender area. A little in the corners on the windshield, which was typical for the early years especially, before the 'wings' were installed.

Was a no-spoiler car, 2nd owner added them, and are the wrong ones. No wheel spats of course, and wish I would have saved the fenders, even after the one accident damage, or at least the vents.

it's been years since I even looked at the PHS, but I do have it. It was pretty molested, even had shag carpet in it when I got it! That puke green-yellow stuff! Heheh! On the rear deck too! Bleh!

There was a little rot on the bottom of the doors, seams, but the guy who did the body the first time had some side-impact braced doors that were good, and he donated them to me.

The gap-panel on the drivers side is missing, couldn't be located at the time, and has some fiberglass covering it. Some. I will get that corrected, plan on doing a frame-off, but for now I just want to get it back on the road, and will put as much as I can in service of what I have currently. It's going to look pretty 'period-correct', or kind of '80s', I have limited funds at the moment.

I have a ton of pics, but I would have to scan them to get them posted. I want to do that, the car was 'family' for a while, kids still remember bangin' their' heads on the roll bar! Heheh!

This car has been everywhere, I drove the tires of the thing, time and time over.

Lots happened since I started this thread, for one, the 535 ended up in the Judge project, so I went thru the engine that was slated for the Judge and is now a 463, going into this project.

Car is in paint/body now, the body is done, and it's waiting for paint.

Couple pics, and will try to take some time to update the thread.

I'm basically doing a brewster tribute, using a 2015 Jag color (pic attached), and on the wall if I'm doing a bird on the hood or not. If so, I will probably do a 'ghosted' or translucent type of graphics, probably in grey. I will see once I get it back which way to go.

Someone did an SW Rogers clone, and had some ghosted graphics on it, which I liked, and was going to do a variation of those. (pic attached)

It's adopted a kind of project name too, the 'Green Gobblin'. Misspelling intentional, kind of a humorous twist. May change it later, not sure yet.

The engine is the one that came out of the LeMans, went into the Judge briefly, had an issue, swapped in the 535, and had the 461 rebuilt (correctly), which is now a 463. Butler 315cfm E-heads, round port, forged crank etc, hyd roller, a VooDoo 243/251 '713' cam. Have a Sniper XFlow for it, NW intake, canton road race, March serp, Vintage Air, a APT Extreme TKO-600, SPEC clutch setup, and a 9" tru track w 325 gears (I think). Full Global West suspension, Baer brakes.

Not sure if I mentioned all that in this post prior, but figured it couldn't hurt to mention it again!

I collect parts for years, and have pretty much everything for it. When I get a chance I will go back thru this thread and update items that need it.

The color is pretty unique, and the HGY color was replaced mid-year, and went to a BGR code. My understanding is that it was due to the mica in the paint, which didn't meet EPA standards, and was discontinued. The only company in the US that will mix the HGY is PPG, and it's intended to be for restoration or repairs only.

This is as close an example as I can get, it's a 2022 F-type, BGR color. In off lighting conditions, it looks black, but as light hits it at an angle, it pops green. The BGR is pretty heavy in the mica/flake, and the HGY flake is much finer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsTbe98o1P8

I saw a true HGY car in person, and the color stuck with me, and went down a rabbit hole trying to find the color I saw. I saw other cars with the BGR color and it just wasn't the same. A lot of people said 'no, that's the only color they had', but I knew better, and kept digging. People on some of the Jag forums, as difficult as it was for me to visit, knew there were changes to the color mid-year, so I was vindicated. But finding the exact color was a task.

As usual, doing a decent stereo in it, and am doing my usual rear deck out of MDF with a built in sub enclosure. Will be a pair of 6x9s, and a 10" sub. Here's a few pics...

The bottom of the deck I sprayed bed liner on, and I felt covered the sub enclosure, used PV amp corner protectors on it, and covered the top in dynamat.

When it's installed, with the package tray over it, it looks really clean. Can look at the Judge project how it looks to give an idea.

I'm changing the interior color over to black, and picked up a dash from Dash Pad Pros. Although it is not 'perfect' by restoration standards, it looks and will function fine for a driver type build.

Refurb'ed a dash insert, bought New Vintage gauges, and have it pretty much done, need to dig it out and go over it, know there was still a few things I needed to do before it is ready.

Couple shots of the dash with the gauges and insert, as well as a bunch of the small items built out.

To stay with the 'green' theme, all the dash lights, interior lights, license plate light, headlight halos, trunk light, all will be green LEDs.

That sailor needs a haircut!

I was homeported in Norfolk from late 82 until April of 87. I drove my 69 GTO every where. I did an engine rebuild at the auto shop on base and painted the car there too. I would run out to Suffolk every chance I could and drag race the goat.

Somewhere I have Fort Lauderdale pictures and some from bike week in Daytona Beach too.

I too still have my Poncho.
