I had no idea that there was another auto column. Any magazine articles out there on the car?

I think the last time it sold was within the past 5 years.
Mecum or Russo Steele.

I never understood the value some place on Smokey and the Bandit cars over early 1970 to 1973 Trans Ams.... at least here in California those gutless smokey cars can't be modified due to smog laws; so just don't get it.

They all want to be the Bandit. Some of theses guys are more about the image than the car. I always get a chuckle out of someone dressed up like the Bandit posing next to a Bandit T/A

I do like the black and gold SE T/A's... don't wanna deal with the Burt comments.... besides... I prefer round headlights and a curvy hood.

Why has no one bought this? Someone said it is worth double my "$120k" estimate? Where are the buyers?

The highest offer is shown as 101k
Its worth more than that , even though that is a lot of money.

But I don't think I would value it at 189k as it sits for numerous subjective reasons.
Doesn't matter much because I'm not a prospective buyer

Somebody educate me. How can you tell that the fenders on this car are wrong?
I'm assuming that 70-73 fenders are the same. 74-77 are the same and 78-81 are the same. Thanks.

70-72 are the same. The mount for the fender "brace" on the inner fender support started in 73.

Thanks, jhein for clearing that up. I was racking my brain trying to see any differences on the outside part of the fender.

Default T/A

I have been in contact with the seller on this car unfortunately it`s not the right time of year for a road trip to ND or it would probably be in my garage by now. Got info from Matt which helped a lot, Thanks Matt. A price has been agreed to and he said he will give me 1st shot on the car.

The incorrect fenders don`t bother me that much the important thing to me is it`s a number matching car and perfect for me as I like to drive my cars.,

KC

That's about where I see it , as it sits .
Mostly a quality driver , with perhaps a show quality exterior.
Good blend of car factor/equity factor for a usable car.

When they go full blown - the equity factor overtakes the car factor.
I bet its a real fun car to drive
Hope it works out for you Chief .
