Default Yikes! 74 Formula anyone??

Boy, this poor car. Where to begin. Camaro rear quarters would be a good place start I guess...

The video is painful, didn't watch all of it. Guy's got guts for driving it.

wow;
Since the quarters are drastically different, I"m guessing it just has the wheel arches grafted on.
Sometimes I wonder if there is something in the water over on that side of the country...

Here's what I think should be a legitimate question:

What's the point of heater controls...

(wait for it)

When there's no heater!?

They sell some pretty rough stuff. Their prices are lower than most other dealers though. They like to turn and burn... 50-60 cars a month is quite a bit of volume for a small lot. I wonder where they get all the cars to keep up with the volume?

FB can be a fun way to interact/network, but it's pure crap for getting real useful information.
To me, the best part of FB/car stuff are sellers who list there - but at times, the exposure creates a frenzy, and then prices get inflated.

Hey, at least it's Pontiac powered and a 4 speed. I do see quite a few Camaro pieces to "compliment' the Camaro wheel arches.

What other Camaro parts are on this car?
Overall it looks pretty rough. I would bet that 16k-17k cash and this too can be yours. It does seem priced ok for what it is though. IMO this one needs to have a tear down and complete rebuild.

Coolant recovery tank and radiator top plate are a couple obvious ones..

I can say a few nice things about the car. It doesn't have hood buckle, that's a big one. It also has a tach and full factory gauges (although not working...). Lots of Formulas didn't get tach and gauges, even with 4 spds. I could never figure that one out. Some of the interior parts look to be in OK condition.

Other than that it looks like the kind of car you might see if you were visiting a less prosperous country.

Camaro 1/4 skins look like they were tacked on over the original 1/4's..

Yeah, I noticed that but I see there is a hose attached to the water pump heater hose return that goes somewhere toward the radiator. Why would that be? Wouldn't you just "cap" it?

Younger crowd that just wants to drive.
When their brain gets over 20 years old, they may want a defroster, or wipers.
The wheels and tires are putting a hurting on those rear leaf springs via those long shackles.

I don't agree with this.
I will digress that it's not a show car, but not many are.

It was pointed out to me by another member, that its really easy to be critical of other peoples work/cars;
It appears to be solid and complete.

It has some pieces missing, like the bumper to valance filler - but that seems to be pretty common with 74-76 cars.

I just watched the video - I must apologize, I thought "maple motors" was in eastern Canada;
I find it funny that he tried to turn on the fan (because it's absent)!
The tach not working isn't a big deal for a car this old - ditto on the clock.
The wipers hanging up in rest is also a no big deal in my book.
I am guessing that this was a 400-4spd-AC car, and that the prior owner just got rid of everything to do with the AC - pretty dumb in my book, but it should be something the next owner can fix (I'm basing this guess on the two ac vents on the dash - the two aftermarket gauges could have easily been placed inside the other AC vent holes).

I agree with this one hundred percent;
Again, it appears to be an otherwise complete driveable car as is; and although some might balk at this, you would be hard pressed to find as solid and otherwise presentable car at this price.

It is really too bad that the bozo who did the body work used Camaro wheel opening patches;
Even I knew better when I was a broke teenager - I used my original (rusted from the bottom) fender lips to patch the quarters.

I can appreciate the driving video, because for a prospective buyer, it really gives a good first hand impression of what to expect with this car.

The stance is awful, but honestly if you correct that I think that car is a perfectly respectable cruiser. It just looks dorky with the 4x4 stance.

Even as is, but especially lowered a little I would bet heavily that whomever bought it would get just as much attention driving down the road as they would if it had the correct quarters.

My girlfriend claims that most of Hot Rodding is just peacocking so that random old men at gas stations and stoplights talk to you. That car would succeed at that for sure.

Can't believe the seller couldn't spend 5 minutes centering the steering wheel.

The video gave me the impression that they aqquired this car essentially as-is to sell;
Let the next owner do the alignment - and the savings be passed on to him (or her).

I worked with young people for 40 years in a college bar. The last thing they care about is what old guys like me think, in fact if an old guy says something is good, they will more than likely run the other way.

Kind of like if you compliment their clothing ... they will look down at themselves in horror.

Paint is awful, and there are signs of rust bubbling underneath. Hate to beat a dead horse but the quarters are wrong. Engine compartment leaves a lot to be desired. I did say that for the condition of the car it is priced about right. You are correct that every car is not ready for the show, and this one looks like it would be a fun car to drive around. But I stand by my comment that overall its in rough condition. Something show worthy would be twice the asking price.
