Default Pontiac Dealer Ink Pen?

My family owned a GM dealership growing up. My dad always carried one pen. It was a silver ink pen that would twist to write, and it had a Pontiac emblem at the base of the clip. He used it for so many years the silver rubbed off and the Pontiac emblem finally fell off. I've tried to find info on it, but I can't find another example anywhere. I'm almost positive it was some sort of GM dealer award or pen. GM was always sending things to the dealers back then.

Does anyone have any info or have you seen one of these?

Was it like this Cross pen and pencil set? https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...old-1815832287 Cross pens were often used for brand-marked award sets from various companies, I have a couple of them I was given over my work career (one was from General Electric, I forget the other one.)

You may yield more/better information over on the Pontiac Literature and Memorabilia page on Facebook.

Lots of neat Pontiac items.

Search for images of Parker pens. Could that be what your father had?

Yes, that's it in the last picture! By using the term Cross Pen, as was mentioned here, it turned up quite a few results. How did you find the photo of the pends with the red background? I'm not seeing it in the Google search hits.

I pulled it from a '74 dealer promo ordering flyer. They cost $6.00 each for the Rhodium pen OR pencil and $11.50 for the set. $8.75 for the gold pen OR pencil and $17.25 for the set.

Haven't had swaps here in Aus basically since ebay got popular. If they do, it's just old ladies selling jam and potplants.

You’re in Australia? You should put your location in your screen profile. I always look where to see where people are from when their looking for something. Yours is empty
Vette man, where are you located?

As I mentioned earlier here's one of my Cross pens with a GE logo on it. Cross has done these kinds of promotional pens for all sorts of brand names.

That Cross Pen has to be it, it looked just like that, except right where the GE emblem is there was a Pontiac emblem. Same coloration, size and placement.

Pretty typical graduation present back in the day, too.

It just helps people when looking for something.I look at that and think if you don’t care, is just skim over the ad.

Back in the day pens were more popular, in 9 th grade I worked at Susie Q on Woodward, everyone got a pen/pencil set for Christmas. At the time I didn’t like it, but the next 3 years I used it alot.
I’ll look for some pens at the swaps. I just don’t want to get stuck with Pontiac pens that no one wants. Lol
I try not to buy oddball stuff anymore.
