This might sound kind of strange to most of you but I've heard that Try-Y headers are easier to use when installing a Pontiac engine in a late 70's GM 4WD truck (clearance issue with front axle.) The 455/TH400 out of my daily driver car is probably an orphan now and would be real nice in my truck. If the 2nd gen F-body app is a style of header that is likely to fit such an application, and they can be coated in some way (or made out of rust-resistant alloy) to last in winter road salt, I might go for a set.

Michael Farich,
I have no idea if that would work or not in a truck. These were designed on a f-body & until someone try's them on another application then we won't know if they will fit other body's or makes with Pontiac motors in them.

Also I'm probably going to have to come up with some kind of tribal name for these headers, since I most likely wont be able to use H-O in the name. Just Tri-y is to BLAH.
Is there any suggestions? If someone comes up with something catchy I can give a great deal on a set.

Ron

Ron, How about Apache? Sounds agressive, easy to remember and everyone knows the name is somehow related to native culture (means the people (or warriors) of the mountains BTW).

What are ya' thinking, like 1/2 off my set!! Now, that would be a great deal. When looks like the new shipping date??

What do you think about:

Scalped Head-ers
Scalp'um Head-ers

Not really tribal sounding though.

DM,
Thats pretty good, maybe it can be refined a little.
maybe Scalper headers?
Or Arrow Headers?
Or Spear Headers?

OR WAIT A MINUTE DM!! What definition are you thinking here Huh!?! Are you saying it in a tribal way, like
1 a : to deprive of the scalp b : to remove an upper part from the head

OR

to buy and sell so as to make small quick profits <scalp stocks> <scalp grain>; especially : to resell at greatly increased prices <scalp theater tickets>

Sorry I get parinoid some times I'm running low on my medication. Whats the Indian frase for paranoid or scitso?

Larry,
That sounds kinda Hawian

TD,
Peace pipes is cool but might promote use of hallucinogens while driving. Also who wants to make peace with a chevy when its war all the way

I was thinking in line with peacemaker too, as in the gun. But it's too much of a stretch in peace pipes!

Arrow headers is damn good. Trybal tubes has a great ring to it!

Good stuff guys.

Since these headers only fit the second-gen 'birds, howz about:

'SCREAMING CHICKEN HEADERS'

2nd-gen enthusiasts (especially T/A owners) will 'get it'.
