Many of you have expressed a need to upgrade your exhaust system but didn't want to spend the extra $350 + installation for the RA/HO manifolds or headers. We have just completed these sample downpipes for standard manifold cars. As you can see they include the correct flanges. Notice that the pipe is 2 1/2" but is downsized for a couple of inches to allow for the flange to fit. After the flange is installed, the pipe is flared for attachment to the standard exhaust manifold.

We are looking for a GTO owner to test a pair of these downpipes for fit. If you are able to immediately install a complete system and can report feedback and digital pictures, please contact us for a special arrangement. $$

Mine! I want 'em! I put 428 in this spring and have seriously undersized exhaust. I'll email you.

Very nice job on the pipes. But based on the comments on the TA 2 1/2 splitter pipes,to 2 1/4, I am sure someone will discuss the reduction in size to meet the manifold. Keep the new parts coming.

Hey Chris, Les Chase and I talked about this last weekend. He had his '66 Conv chasis at the SDPOCI Show with your exhaust and his "test" pipes. Looks great. Keep it up!

Chris, I can also assume that they will fit a big car? What are we looking at $ wise? My 4dr has 2" off the manifold then 2.5" right behind the starter. Those are exactly what the car needs.

Joe, Blackcat is testing on a 70-81 F body which has the same manifolds as your Big Pontiac. I'm waiting to hear from him.

Here's a pic. It's hard to get a good shot on ramps and jack stands!

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

Well?
I think that you may have to wait just a bit as i spin the story.
I've never tried a buy it exhaust ever!
But, once in ones life you try it.
After seeing the Exhaust Info pop up here. I took a look at the applications.
Most of you know that I'm putting together a 79 Firebird Formula for my next ride.
However, all the applications were for the HO exhaust or headers!
I sent Ccass an E-mail asking if he was going to offer a standard head pipe for us Pontiac people.
I'm installing a 72 400 from a grand prix in the car complete to the heads and exhaust manifolds.
Ccass Replied with a Yes that they were trying prototypes on the New Standard head pipes and if I wanted to try them.
I said yes!
I did have to wait until the set were ready though.
Last Thursday two Large packages showed up at my doorstep!
One very large box and two smaller ones taped together.
The large box contained lots of neat bent pipes and bags of clamps. The other two were the mufflers.
I called my friend Ken to see if he was available to help with this project.
Sunday was the day!
Here is a Pix of the Firebird's engine.

While waiting on Ken I did some test assembling of the kit. Neat pipes!
I was wondering where the X would end up!

Here is my test fitting!

Having the car off the ground is a wise idea!
I seem to have an abundence of Jack stands!
Here is the ends I put in place. they slid together and I then Hung them from the stock origional hangers that were in good shape! The kit comes with New hangers to replace them if needed.
