Blackcat: It looks like you have a bunch of really descriptive picture of your install. Do you mind if I add some of them to Pics Gallery on pypesexhaust.com?

Not at all!
That is why I did the Install!
I like to do this in order to help others.

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

The car has the Standard Exhaust Manifolds.
The 7K3's are missing the end bolt hole and pad for it.

Is that your fuel line under that axel view?
How close is it? Thats a problem I have with my current set up. I reallllllly like those pipes.
Did you spot weld the connections? How did you do it?

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Ccass:
Many of you have expressed a need to upgrade your exhaust system but didn't want to spend the extra $350 + installation for the RA/HO manifolds or headers. We have just completed these sample downpipes for standard manifold cars. As you can see they include the correct flanges. Notice that the pipe is 2 1/2" but is downsized for a couple of inches to allow for the flange to fit. After the flange is installed, the pipe is flared for attachment to the standard exhaust manifold.

So whats your price on this setup and how was the flange different before for regular manifold guys who wanted to go up to 2-1/2"?

This summer I made a pipe like this the hard way out of pieces. I'll keep in mind next time the car needs head pipes.
It's a '73 big car with its original manifolds. The outlets are 2", there is a 2" long piece of 2.25" with a flare against the manifold, the 2.25" is then welded into the trimmed end of a 90 degree 2.5" elbow. That was alot of work to install, pull clamps down real tight to locate it, uninstall, get the two parts welded together, remove clamps, reinstall on car.
BTW, on a big car the pipe can come straight down, bend 90 degree then go straight back past the trans for a while on both sides. It can be gotten to clear everything including the extra braces that some cars have that go from the frame under the engine back to the frame under the front body mounts. Mine has X pipe too.

Can you post pics from directly underneath each manifold? I need to see how they drop off the motor and travel back towards the tranny.

Isn't that X pipe restrictive like a Y pipe on a single exhaust?
I guess I just don't understand exhaust dynamics.
I'd like a long branch 2-1/2"system without the X in 304 Stainless.
