I got a complete wood kit from autowood.net to replace all of the original wood in the body. I told them the amount I was chopping the roof and they made the wood to match that dimension. What you see in the photo is the new wood.

I hope you are going to add a lot of steel reinforcement along with the wood. I thought about saving the wood in mine but after talking with a friend who did a 31 Chevy I decided I didn't want to have his nitemare with wood he bit a similar car to mine with a healthy v8 replaced all the wood with new wood and no extra steel.hr drove it a lot for a couple years the started to notice that all the body panels were getting loose his final wood problem came after a day at the strip when the wood across the top of the door opening cracked and the top sagged causing the doors not to close anymore. I think the wood is fine in a stock resto but once you add in modern drivetrain and suspension it causes a lot of problems as the original car only had 60 hp. I priced the wood kit and was able to go all steel with labor for about 1/4 the cost of just the wood the only wood I left was in the doors and around the trunk and they both had some steel structure added

Had the body stripped yesterday with the dustless blasting method came out better than I had hoped basically no body damage and only a couple pinholes to fix. It only took them an 1 1/2 to do everything. Dropped it at the painters to get it primed

Nothing is easy if your not working on a ford example rear view mirror on a ford you just lamp it onto the door frame on the pontiac the frame does not have an edge to clamp to so an hour later after drilling through the door then countersinking a hole in the outer skin now I have a clean mounted mirror. It might need an extension and a larger head but I am very happy with it
