Not a "best" story, but one that my buddy won't let me live down.

Back in the day (1959) I spent a lot of time cruising with my buddy in the neighboring small city, a college town, looking for 'action' (girls, races, whatever) in my somewhat ratty '37 Buick coupe with cammed '57 Tripower, close-ratio 3-speed and posi 3.70 rear.
One night a carload of kids beside us at a redlight were hollering and gesturing, so naturally I proceeded to bang some gears when the light changed. After this was repeated at the next two lights, my buddy said "Hey, I think they're pointing at the back of the coupe". So we make a turn and stop to get out and look- turns out I'd been trying to act "cool" while one back tire was flat!
I was running discarded M&H oval track slicks that had such stiff sidewalls that I didn't even notice any difference!
