Painting Trim Pieces
I also posted this in Body Shop even though it's specific to my '64:
I have the usual exterior trim pieces on a '64 Tempest Custom. Some of the pieces need paint. The hood and trunk arrow heads, The front fender horizontal trim pieces and the grille Pontiac logo. These pieces have fine detail. I would like to paint them with crisp lines, don't want new paint with sloppy lines. Are there any special techniques or is it just taping off? Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony |

I paint the whole part and then use lacquer thinner/paper towel to wipe off where you don't want the paint.

You can also use a syringe to inject paint into small places like the white letters of the PONTIAC emblem, then clean up edges with lacquer thinner/paper towel. But, spraying would make a better finish. would take a lot of taping.
