There better than a stock rod and about the same price if you were

I'm running a set in one of my motor's. there in the blower motor in
my firebird.

GT.
So, just to be sure that we all understand exactly what you're saying: Are the rods you're referring to Eagle brand 5140 part #SIR6625PP-8, Pontiac spec rods, and NOT RPM or other brand Pontiac spec rods, or the Eagle 5140 6.8" stroker rods ?

The reason I'm asking is because up until VERY recently, these rods didn't seem to be a available. Both Jegs & Butler seem to NOW have 'em in stock.

"...about the same price if you were to recon your stock rods..."

Just wondering how cheap you can buy these rods. With shipping, they'll cost over $400, from Butler.

From Jegs, they're $370 + tax, if Jegs charges you tax, minus any Jegs discounts at the time of purchase.

Just hit the buy now button on Ebay. Jeg's charges me tax. So, my shipped price is $386.45. On the Jegs site, it appears that you can now get $20 off these rods with the Promo Code "SANTA".

So, are you saying that, with bolts, the cost of having cast rods resized is now very near or over $400 ? Or do you have some sort of wholesale discount, or cheap secret source, for Eagle rods ?

In case somebody wants a set of these rods for Christmas, does anybody here know of a cheaper price than buying directly from the Jegs site ?

Default One more try

I know that many here may be tired of seeing me bring this up again.

But, IIRC Cliff Ruggles & Paul Carter have both posted that they have seen problems with lots of the 5140 Pontiac spec rods that were made by RPM, & sold under several different brand names.

As far as I can tell, those rods are no longer being made. If this is not correct, somebody can correct this & post links to current sources.

Here's the page, on the RPM site, where those rods WERE listed. As all can see, they are not listed, now.

Here's the listing, on the Butler Site. As all can see, rather than a price, there is a reference to the Eagle rods.

https://butlerperformance.com/i-2445...tegory:1234812

Therefore, I have to ASSUME that the ONLY 5140 Pontiac spec rods which are currently available are the Eagle part #SIR6625PP-8 rods.

SO, just so that I & others here will know, FOR SURE, has anybody here bought any of THESE Eagle rods ? Not BBC spec stroker length rods, but 6.625" length 5140 Pontiac spec Eagle brand rods.

If indeed any of you have bought any of these rods, where & when did you buy them & how much did you pay ?

Again I ask that if there is already a thread here, which contains the info I'm asking about, somebody please post a link to that thread.
