Default Gas Tank Choices

2 questions.

Does anyone know of a good way to get a dent out of the bottom of a gas tank. Blow air through the filer neck??? hhmmnn..be tough to get all the lines sealed off enough. It looks like something lightly dented the right bottom side. I am stripping the whole undercarriage and cleaning and when I got to the tank , saw that and went...hhmmnnn. Could buy a new one but really tight on funds.

Which brings me to question two.

Of the many choices, I see several dominant ones. North American , Spectra Premium, and Goodmark. I have a feeling Goodmark is China though and definitely don't want that one. North American and Spectra Premium seem to both have the same part number. Thats off "Evil Bay" as I have seen it mentioned here.

Also want one that I can use with my FACTORY straps.

Thanks for the help folks!

I have a Spectra for my 79. Very nice. You can even order one from a local parts store like Autozone or Advance, maybe O'reilly's, and save some money on shipping. You can look up their prices on their websites.

Thanks folks for the pics and suggestions. Yeah, actually just checked with Autozone and they carry them and yes, you can save on the shipping! Great call! Appreciate that! I'll probably order one next week. They look great.

Ditto on the Spectra. Put one in my 78 T/A and fit great. Had to bend the filler neck down just a hair but overall, it's a nice piece.

Ollie:
the tank measured about 12" at the deepest part
the tank bolted right into place

i ordered a new sending unit as well and straps too
everything went in nicely, once i realized i put the wrong straps on first lol
