Default Need o2 help

I have a 1986 GP 2+2 AEROCOUPE with the 305. I keep getting the service engine soon light. When I plug in the scanner,I get a code 45 which is a "rich" O2 sensor. I purchased a new sensor and installed it . It was fine for a day but the light then returned and the car would not idle below 1,500 rpm. I thought it may be a bad sensor so I bought and installed another with the same results. Any ideas out there. Thanks.
