Default Correct steering column finish/gloss

I’m going to do a quick touch up of my upper steering column in the car & can’t tell what the correct finish should be or was. It almost looks like a krinkle finish on the upper column vs a semi gloss. Either it’s textured or someone tried to refinish it in the past & the paint reacted odd?

My 71 has a satin finish - no texture.
