I also used Firestone Wide Ovals on the 73 SD's we have had in here.

Every 1973 Trans Am our dealership sold new had Firestone WideOvel F60X15.There was a Radial Tuned Suspension option late in year that offered GR70X15 white walls and white lettered(we never sold a white lettered radial)so I don't remember one of those new.

I recommend the Goodyear Polyglas GT's, F60x15 of course.

Get 'em from Kelsey tire.

Check with Glen Stringfield over on the Buick boards, he runs a group purchase a few times a year. Glen's a great guy, and he saved me about $35 per tire when I bought the G60's for my '72 GTO. He puts the deal together, collects the $$$ and Kelsey ships directly to you.

Buick Forums

When I restore my silver Formula, I'll be putting the Polyglas tires on it.

Talking 73 Cars:

My 1973 Formula 400 came with F60x14, but my 1973 Trans Am SD-455 came with GR70x15 model 500. The model 500's however where in fact recalled that year, and replaced with a model 721. Firestones or Uniroyals Ive seen, Goodyear made that model too, but never seen them on a GM ?
Being your looking for Trans Am tires I'd go with whats documented on your PHS to be correct/original.
Honeys or Ralleys II are correct because it could have been changed at the dealer, and would not be noted on the PHS unless they are Honeys. Then it would have been an option item and cost extra.
Hope this helps, and why dont you show us a picture ?

FYI, IIRC a 1973 Formula would have been factory equipped with F70x14 (standard suspension) or F60x15 (Y99 suspension) or GR70x15 (RTS) tires. Definitely NOT F60x14's.

My SD definately got the Firestones. I still have a spare with the original Wide Oval mounted on it.
