I have also seen those "chevy" sticks in Pontiacs but they could have been replaced. I looked through my files and could not find a pic of them but I have seen them in Pontiacs.

Another good vendor for what I call "hard core" parts is Show Cars. They sell Chevrolet stuff but most of the transmission stuff crosses over from Pontiac to Chevrolet. Some one was asking about 4 speed back up switches and mounting brackets etc., they are available from Show Cars. Go to DR 409.com and click on the clutch & transmission section of their on-line catalog.
Just remember that Chevrolet used T-10 transmissions from 58 to early 63. After March of '63 Chevrolet switched over to Munce transmission so that doesn't work on the Pontiacs.

Real 61. Thanks very much for sharing. That will be helpful. I can not believe in my exhaustive searching I did not find that place. Google is still no substitute for the car-guy network. It is a blessing that these T-10s were in so many other cars. That is for sure.

Deadhead,
You mentioned in one of your posts that your '63 Pontiac with the Chevrolet style shifter was very close to the seat when the power seat was in the forward postion.....this caught my attention, for this very reason, in 1962 Chevrolet did not offer the power seat when the car was equipped with a 4 speed transmission.

PY also sells the backup switch, although I don't know if they have the mounting bracket.

I can see why, but if you are going on a long trip, changing the angle so your lower back & gravity work together with that seat is the Diff. between a smile and a grimace at the other end of the line.

Ok here we go

Pretty nice door panels, carpet is pretty nice, seats are ok but have a few seam splits. Interior is plenty good for a driver

Note the seam splits

Dash pad is cracked

Drivers side windows and power seat work. I was told all windows work but I can't get the pass side to roll down.

Steering wheel is cracked

Worst rust spot. Plenty fixable

I put a brand new 600 Edelbrock on it

Lots of parts in the trunk

Pretty nice Catalina Grill, I have some of the GP inserts to swap out though

An OK fender

Probably not usable

usable but probably not worth the work

Good but need to be blasted and repainted

Nice hood with a few pin holes and just one small ding

trashed front bumper which he said can be straightened out...I doubt it

Nice 8 lugs including a spare. I don't believe they are "correct" '62 8 lugs but they look sweet, 2 of the tires don't hold air very long but appear to be very low miles

So far this is all the GP grill parts I have been able to find on ebay

Nice tail panel, has some pits in it though

I wish I had some money. I also have to cry about the interior. My friend and I replaced all the door pannels and carpet not 2 months befor Kiki got the car It looked so nice inside.

Yeah, you can tell the interior was damn nice before Kiki got a hold of it. The door panels are still nice. The seats will clean up a lot. They're DIRTY

Too bad he used it as a storage shed.
