Hey guys got a quick one for you. Do any of you know if the 1970 judge came standard with power brakes or if you could get one new in 1970 without?

No, power brakes were an option on all 70 A Bodies, including the Judge optioned GTO. My 70 Judge had manual brakes.

Yes sadly most GTO's were drum and power drum - power drum and power disc was an option. Its funny on other a-bodies if you ordered a performance car you had to order disc brakes but not on the GTO. All 442 W-30's you had to get disc brakes and all monte carlo and grand prix came standard with disc brakes but on the GTO it was an option - go figure.

I could be more specific but it was the point i was trying to make.
70-72 W-30 had disc brakes included in the W-30 option, all 69-72 Grand prix, all 70-72 Monte Carlo - it was standard no additional cost. I would think on the performance cars if you go fast you have to stop fast - so maybe it should of been standard on more performance cars like the judges or ram air cars or all GTO's, 442, Chevelle SS, GS but it wasen't. |
