Default GM part Number for 79-81 WS6 steering gear box

Hi would anybody have access to a 79-81 GM parts catalogue? I'm looking for the part number for the WS6 steering gear box.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jon

7848140 for 1980 and 1981. 1979 is iffy, every listing for 78 and 79 in the catalog is for non-WS6.

This is from John Witzke article - Quicker steering ratio, 14:1 straight ratio instead of variable ratio for standard Trans Am.
Part # 7829773

Not sure if that is the order part # or the casting #?

Thanks for the responses, nUcLeArEnVoY what parts book did you get that number from?
That is the one I have also, new in the box, I bought it in December of 90, as I recall it was changed from 7829773 to 7848140 according to the Pontiac part books they had at the dealership at the time. I plan on using it on my restoration. 7833312 then goes to 7829773 or visa versa? I'm trying to check the history of the number with out 79-81 parts book.
Thanks for the help.

That box require adapters that go from flare to metric o-ring?

I'm using coupling flange # 7826542 gr 6.525 that is a metric one. Is that what you are are asking?

Does any body know how to tell the difference between WS6 gear box and a standard one?

Straight ratio firm feel vs. variable ratio

My reference was the 1976-1981 parts catalog. Are you aiming for concourse quality? A replacement steering gearbox wouldn't deduct points at most shows other than the most discerning. But hey, if you have an original like you say you do, then by all means, use it. Remans are hit-or-miss.
