Help finding AC vent clips
I know this has been posted time and time again on here and other sites. I have spent time searching and reading prior threads to only come up empty handed.
I am in hopes somebody has an old AC car or broken dash somewhere and they would be willing to sell me the 2 clips. These are for my 1970 GTO with AC. They attach on the back of the dash bezel to hold the AC vent in place. I would imagine multiple years would use the same clips. But for sure 70-72 will work. I do NOT want to "make my own" or do some other type of rigging to secure the vent. So Please don't stray off topic with ideas. If you happen to know a part # or may have these laying around or sitting in a parts car......Let me know. I 100% will locate these clips. Think positive and get positive results! LoL |

If anybody would have them, it's this guy. I had no idea that they were unobtainium. Are they proprietary to that year? Those vents went into a lot of cars.

The center vent was used in multiple year Gtos Lemans and other Pontiacs. But 70-72 have the same dash. I would think the clips are different for other dash styles.......but I don't know. I contacted Ames and they knew exactly what I was looking to buy and said they are not reproduced so finding them used is the only way. |

That isn’t the right vent or clips for 70 - 72 center a/c vent. 2 small pieces are felt type of material.

Dave is correct. His picture is minus another larger plastic plug that was used on the left side of the vent.

When get home will go through a box of damaged dash bezels, have sold clips before.
From time to time, need the lower right 2 1/2 x 16" from badly damaged bezels, main reason I set such bezels aside. In that vein, I'd like to know what it is, with all the dumb fxxk Cletus's out there that are so ignorant that in an effort to hastily remove a faded out non working clock (core) that they have to destroy a perfectly good used dash bezel ??? Seen it time & time again, irks me to no end.

3 damaged AC bezels have already robbed the center vent/clips, saved those partial bezels for the lower rh dash & radio areas. Have a deep stock of '70-72 A-body pieces and am keeping an eye out for a paticular 72 AC bezel with a lot of yellow contact cement residue. It has complete AC vent, just got to find it.

Drop me a email at arayman@aol.com I have several a/c heads, but if one is lesser than nice, I'd consider rendering it useless by removing the clips.
