I was finally able to pull the trigger on red floor mats, only to find that they have been discontinued. So I grabbed these off of ebay. I know that technically, they're for a '65. But they fit perfectly.
I laid them out, and we'll see if they start to flatten. That one area at the end of the flap may be a challenge. What's the best thing to straighten that out, besides time?

I was able to gently use my hot air gun on my kick panel to get a warp out of it. Just be cautious and take your time. Kind of sneak up on it. After you do it, lay it flat with a book or something on top to let it set.

As mentioned hot water or just laying them in the sun should help to get them to flatten out.
I found my set many years ago and they were in similar distorted condition.
I kept them laid out in the sun for several hours at a clip,
and reverse rolled them when storing them until I was ready to use them.

I bought them sometime in '89. First pic is after serveral sun bathing sesions.
To keep them clean I will vacuum them and use warm water with a soft brush.
The only product I use on them is Meguiars #40 Rubber-Vinyl, Cleaner-Conditioner.
They are starting to show their age but have held up amazingly.

Nice, Jeff. I'm glad to see that they've held up well. I've always loved the Turquoise/Aqua interior.
I understand that the repro's don't have the little bumps on the back to keep the mats from sliding. I don't know if it makes that much of a difference, but if the factory called for it, then there must be a reason.
