Is anybody making 1970 GTO windlace in sandalwood? Thanks Steve

When I purchased windlace for my Firebird it was not being offered in anything other than black. You will probably need to purchase black and use an interior paint like SEM and paint to match.

I still have the original windlace, but back in the day it was cool to paint the interior. So I painted it black. How can I remove the old back paint? Put it in hot water?

SEM Vinyl and Plastic Prep removes paint/dye from vinyl:
https://www.jbtools.com/sem-paints-3...yABEgJYQvD_BwE As long as you get most of it off, you can re-dye it. You will never get it stripped enough to look good as-is, you will still have to dye it, even if you have to dye it the original color. SEM prep and dye are the go-to. Are you talking about the windlace along the sides and front & rear glass, or the door jam area? Dorr jam windlace comes in colors, but due to matching, you should still dye it so it matches the rest of interior. .

Yes, front and rear glass, the sides and door jam. Will hot/boiling water get some of the old paint off? Steve

I'm not certain. The SEM stuff I sprayed on my interior plastics and soft goods that were being retained, adhered incredibly well. You can try it, but a big part of me thinks you're going to be relying on plan B which is going to be repainting/dying this material.

I don't think boiling water will do jack on the paint.

I took all the paint off mine with lacquer thinner. Cans the paint off right down into the grain of the windlace. Depending on the condition of the windlace under the paint, you may or may not need to paint them. They are typically sun faded and uneven in color.
