[QUOTE=keith k;4674544]Funny... that's the first thing I noticed, too. Took me about 30 seconds to get back around to "oh yeah, clicked on this to look at the orange thing in the foreground...".

The oranges on 67 Camaros were a couple of shades. But they were more common in CA.
Do you have the PHS for the car? Where was it sold new?

btw, the -1 is for the white top.

The orange is most likely a special order color. I have a 67 firebird 400ci with a four speed trans that also has a special order color from the factory called merigold yellow. I've never seen another one this color, and the original owner (I'm the second owner) told me he had ordered the car with that color from the dealer here in Southern California.

Thanks for the compliment on my car, I really appriciate it. For a car that's never won anything at a car show or cruise, it's had a lot of national exposure. First the magazine, then the die cast, and then it was on the Speed TV program "My Ride Rules" the first season, episode 13. No I don't have a convertable, the coupe is the only firebird I own.

Sorry getting my cars confused, swear I thought I saw convertible in your post haha. That is a way gorgeous car. Of course bright yellow is my favorite color . I'd almost trade my trans am for an original. I gotta admit I was way jealous since you found that thing in my backyard I lived in San Fernando Valley. Well it clearly found its way to an appreciative owner and is an amazing car in my mind

Thanks again for the kind words. The story in the magazine was somewhat correct on how I found the car. It belonged to my neighbor and he parked it in the street on the side of my house where my garage was. I was always out there working on my race car that we ran at Saugas Speedway back then. Due to not being in to street cars, and espeically not Pontiacs I never paid much attention to it. His daughter would start it and drive it around the block every now and then to keep the battery charged. I didn't know it was a 400 four speed car fpr almost 3 years. Before the owner picked up the car he had the dealer remove all of the emblems and name plates and fill all of the holes, and me knowing nothing about Firebirds I didn't realize that the twin hood scoops were an indication of a 400 engine.
Since the magazine I've installed C5 Corvette 13 and 12 inch front and rear disc brakes, and sound sYstem, Grant steering wheel, swapped out the Holley Street Dominator intake manifold for an Edelbrock Performer, swapped the long tube headers (they hit the ground going in driveways etc) for some shorty headers, and added cast aluminum "PONTIAC" valve covers. Other than that I haven't done anything to change the appearance or stance of the car. I may add A/C because it get hot here in So Cal in the summer.
