Default 68 rear antenna

I'm happy to report that I received the antenna bezel after waiting 23 months in back order from PY for my 68 Firebird. However, I think the parts might be mismatched. Can someone help me figure this out? There's a post where it shows the assembly of it, but I can't make it work. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...tenna+assembly

The antenna body is threaded, but the mast isn't. Did I get the wrong parts from PY?

Yes, the mast should be threaded. Oval tip would have been a nice touch too.

Thank you for the pictures -- that helps a lot. The mast I have is an oval tip with the stripe at the top, but not threaded at the bottom, and looking back at the catalogs, it seems like it is for a 69 Firebird, and the rest of the parts are for 67-68. Time to call PY, hopefully I can do an exchange after nearly two years of being purchased.

PY had told at the time of the order that they were in contact with the supplier, and it took almost 2 years to get it done. I guess I had no hurry in getting that done, and actually working on other things around the car.

I wonder if they missed a step not threading the antenna in the manufacturing process? It will be interesting to hear what they say. I bet it wouldn't be that hard to thread yourself.

I just got off the phone with them. I got the wrong antenna -- I received the one for a 69 Firebird/GTO. It should have been the threaded one. They will exchange it for me, and actually, the 68 antenna is less expensive.

OK let me reword it

PY is the vendor.
Who manufacturers it?
It may have a bag or sticker on it that will tell.

PY put their own wrapper, but it doesn't show who manufacturers it.

What is the part number of the bezel? I don't see it listed in their new catalog.

The round grounding plate in Cammer's photo is the correct one, the reproduction rear antenna grounding plate is the wrong size (much larger).
