Default Brought home A '68 Firebird 400 HO Convertible Today-Courtesy of Greg Reid

Greg Reid originally posted posted about this car. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=705734

I kept thinking about this car and in mid December I decided I would go have a look. Car has been well cared for over the years. The car is basically stock so that really appealed to me. se428bandit and I went back and looked at the car a little more thoroughly and didn't see anything to make me question trying to make a purchase. Finally got it home today. Best part of the day though was that I got to talk with the seller and his wife for about an hour. They are super-nice people and are close to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Thanks again Greg!

Congrats Kyle. As I told you today, when I saw that car for sale, you were the first person I thought about. I'm very happy that you got it and that it will stay in Georgia!

there would be no HO stripe

very common misnomer
HO stripe was for 326,350 HO only

you could order the Rally stripe on all but the 326,350 HO
this was same stripe as the HO but the front fender stripe is just like the rear half, with no lettering.
Ive been reproducing them for about 25 yrs.

Love the car and the color. (I am a little partial to 68's).

Great story too. I love hearing stories like these where REAL car guys score desireable cars instead of investors who have never had a spec of grease under their fingernails.

It has the Rally Stripe option. Being Alpine Blue with a blue int what would the stripe color be?

Sounds like a very cool Bird.

Do you know where it was sold at?
(09 728, have no info)

Does it still have the original drivetrain?

Engine has been changed. I believe the rest is original including the performance rear and HO manifolds...although Kyle will have to verify that when he gets time to go over it. Beautiful day here today so I expect he's having some fun doing just that.
Like I said in the other thread, this is a real nice nearly survivor quality car that still had the original paint on it up until recently. Not much has been changed outside of the short block.
