I'm not recommending him at all, since I know very little about him. His prices seem high, similar to Butler & some of the other big name Pontiac shops. But he claims to have a full service Pontiac engine building & restoration shop.

The business is called Nitemare Performance, located in North Haven, CT. If I were you, I'd contact area Pontiac car clubs and ask for their opinions.

A real good Pontiac engine builder in that section of the country is Richie Hoffman. He's a very well respected member here, from Long Island. He'll definitely know of a good shop.

In my experience (NE prices), Butler is not expensive compared to what I pay for where I live. In some cases, Butler is cheaper depending on the machining step.

Just going by the $10k starting price for a basic cast crank crate long block.

Also, if Butler was used, there would be freight charges added, or a long drive.

I live in CT and have used RAD Auto Machine in Ludlow, MA for my last couple builds. The owner, Don, is mostly a Chevy guy. But he's done plenty of Pontiacs and others. Some of his build have been featured in Hemmings.
