I Have a 1967 lemans post How can i tell if its a 400 cid or a 326. And where do I go to check the vin for production to see how many were built.

Most likely a 326 if original. ON the distributor pad there is a 6 to 8 digit # along with a 4 digit date code. Find that and post and I or someone else will tell you what it is.

to get info on your car options and production numbers go to pontiac historical services and order the packet for your car.

35.00 for the last one i did.

FOOUND A SITE THAT GIVE'S ME VIN CODE AND ENGINE #S AND LOCATIONS THAT WAS REALLY GREAT. I THINK ITS ALL STOCK 326\285 HP HAS 4 BBL THATS WHY THE ADDED 35 HP. BUT HERES MY ENGINE NUMBER 302059. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

THANK I MIGHT JUST DO THAT. WILL IT TELL ME HOW MANY OF THEM WERE MADE. BECAUSE MINE HAS DISK BRAKES ON THE FRONT ALSO.

That # is not right a 67 326 would be 9786339 a 400 67 would be 9786133. a 326 head would have a 140 or 141 head right below the valve cover in the center about an inch high on either side. Also at front of engine left side down low are two letter codes wp wx yn xf wr xr yp xg are all 326 engines hope this helps
