Default A great buy?? 75 Lemans GT

I scored this car out of the bargain corner of our local paper for 500.00. Originally sold in Fla. 75 Lemans Gt 350 2bbl auto. Has had an engine fire that is not too serious although it did damage the dash and interior. Car is solid beyond belief. Shows 78k on the odometer. The rims and tires are some I already had.

I'd say you got a really good deal even with the fire damage, these cars are really starting to come around. My guess is that someone made it a GT, that header panel came on 75 Grand Lemans and Wagons. If the car has a Grand Prix/ Grand Am style dash, its most likely a Grand Lemans that someone modified a bit.
Here's a pic of a 74 Lemans I just picked up, its really solid, just needs a little TLC, If your car were a true GT, it would have a header panel very similar to this one with a checkered style grill for 75.

Scott..Thanks for the heads up on the header panel. In looking at the car it appears maybe the header has been changed as it has a slightly different shade of white on it. The dash has two large pods for speedo and clock and four small pods for gauges. Is this correct for the GT? Any other things that would indicate a true GT. I will send the vin to PHS for verification of what I have. I really like the full body stripe from the 73-74 Lemans GT so I am thinking of going that route. It would look good next to my 71 1/2 GT-37. Just going to clean this car up and let my wife drive it. A few years ago I wouldn't have been interested in this car at all but now I think it looks pretty good and will make a nice cruiser.

Thats the Grand Prix, Grand Am, Grand Lemans and Can Am style dash with that cluster you discribed, I always thought the GT's were to be like the T-37 and GT-37's and be a base model type car, which made me believe it would have the Lemans dash. Your car even has the full lenght Grand Lemans Chrome on the bottoms of the fenders, doors, and quarters. PHS will let you know for sure, either way you still got a good deal. I've got a 71 T-37 put away as a future project, but my daughter is showing some interest in it. E-mail me some pics of your cars, sounds like we have several similar ones.
