Buy a used air cleaner base for a 1973-76 Trans Am all the other items needed are available from Ames in reproduction. But sold separately not as a complete kit. You will need the scoop to hood gasket, the drain hose, the scoop to aircleaner base retaining ring, the air cleaner lid/cover and the crank case vent items to keep the scoop from rotating on the base.

Maybe when you buy the used base you will also get some of the other pieces like the air cleaner lid/cover and retaining ring or some of the vent items like the filter and retaining clip.

It’s worth noting that the 73-74 air cleaner base is very similar to the 75-up base, but the Quadrajet vent tube is slightly repositioned on the later units, so the air cleaners clock differently on the opposite carburetor.

Tom, do you have the 76 Assembly Manual? Might be handy for seeing how the components all go together and what each does.

Tom, should be able to beat any of the eBay prices on a combination of correct pieces.
Have put together several correct shaker base/lid/ring/PCV tube packages for PY'ers & other T/A owners.
Will be in later today & can send you pics.
