Anyone know if the plastic inner fender wells once used on the Olds 442 will fit my 73 Lemans? I have the steel stockers, but they been out for so long now in the weather and all, they are hardly worth putting back in. Anyone know any lighter alternatives to the stock inner wells that might work?

I think those were only on the 70-71 models so I am thinking they won't fit, at least not exactly. You could probably modify them tho.

ooh Mike...so much to tell, so little time!! I actually had a Radio show call him and put him on the spot!! Too funny... I'll need to call you to give you the details. No fiberglass yet though....
I was thinking sheet metal, Im just not that good of a fabricator. Plus, I dont have any of the tooling to make that work. I have my old metal ones, and I suppose I wont save too much weight by going plastic, but it sure would make it easier to use plastic, than cleaning up the old rusted ones. This car will see limited street use. My concern is the turbulence the lack of fender wells is causing. I cant seem to get an accurate fuel setting... Plus it might help keep the front end down some when running at 120+ in addition to keeping it all clean under the hood. I'll have to see if I can score some early A-Body ones and modify them. If that fails I can try sheet metal, but I think Im asking for trouble there...

I know that 76-77 cutlass & 442's have plastic front inner fenders, I looked into it last summer as I found a few olds in the local yards. But unfortunatlly the yard wanted $75.00 each fir them if I took them out!!!!!! Needless tosay I passed. And had the originals stripped & powdercoated for about the same price.
Also were they mount to the core support is different on the olds. I am shure they could be made to work. But they would not be a "bolt in"
