Default 1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans - $4900

1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans, 4-cylinder, 1-bbl, 110HP, 3-speed stick, four wheel independent suspension, approximately 80,000 miles. Many, many new parts. Have all receipts and photos of the work. This car looks great and runs great. It needs nothing, simply add gas. I use it as my daily driver three seasons of the year. Photos can be seen here ( http://www.rucenterprises.com/tempest ) When was the last time you saw one of these on the road? Be the first person on your block to have some early '60s style with a nod toward today's cost of gas. It is not a fast car but it certainly is different.

Larry, that's a beautiful car, and the best color combination offered - in my opinion. I'm surprised you're selling it. You've been very involved in these formus, and have helped me out a number of times. Good Luck. I know the new owner will have made a great purchase.

I am a glutton for punishment. I don't need this car, but after looking at the pictures, I would like to see some more pics- underhood, engine compartment etc.
PS- what is the mpg on this car. It may well be time to put the GTO's away until I can convert them to solar power.

It gets between 17-20 mpg in city driving on regular gas (8.6:1 comp. ratio). I never drained an entire tank on the highway so I don't know what the burn rate is for that. I will forward the requested pictures via private message (hopefully by end of day today). By the way, this car would not punish you. I've driven it for almost three years now and it's as reliable as an anvil. It even starts OK in 10-degree New England winter weather. However, that shouldn't be an issue for you based upon your location.

24-26? 28? That is ultra impressive for a car with a carb that was designed with 1962 technology.
I didn't mean the car would punish me, but more the wanting for something that I don't need is my own punishment.

Thanks for the offer but that's more than I'm prepared to do to sell the car.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I may have a prospective buyer. I have not marked it sold in this thread because I do not as yet have money in hand. However, it should be very soon. When that happens I will mark it as such.

The buyer lives a little under one thousand miles from here. He opted to have a carrier service haul it because roundtrip transportion and a motel room or two would've cost a bit more.
