Default Round Port Headers for 1967 Grand Prix

I'm building a stroker 400 for my '67 GP. Planning on using original 400 engine, with 4.5" stroke and max bore I can get away with. First step is to mock it all up. I've got the Edelbrock round port heads and have bought Doug's Headers for a 1st Gen Firebird (D568 with 1 7/8" tubes). I've also bought the Ram Air Restorations repo round port manifolds (with enlarged 2.4" outlet). Having trouble getting either of these to fit (driver side) and am wondering if anyone else has had success with something similar. Seems like the Ram Air Restorations pieces have no hope of squeezing between the engine and power steering box. With the manifold installed there is about 3.5" clearance between frame and manifold in are where steering box goes. Looks like there needs to be about 5" for box to fit. Any advice would help. Are there smaller steering boxes out there or better choices of headers that may fit better. Thanks
