The VIN says it was one of the Pontiac 400 Powered cars from the Factory, the 4-speed shifter indicates that also. But who knows whats under the hood today.
Sitting at $2075.00 when I posted this.

67 Firebird Sprint convertible 3 speed at $37 K in NC. Not sure if it's real, or if the color has been changed, but the asking is not far off what I'd ask for it.

69 Firebird SN 0001 at $162K in FL with a reserve. Yes it's a beautiful car, but the fact that it was SN 0001 wouldn't mean that much to me. Way overpriced IMO.

It is 100001
But everything else about it , and the descriptions , are a joke.
Options missing , and many added. Some incorrectly.
No indications on invoice of it being intended for anything except a dealer order.

It might be a 50-60k car , with a 250k Buy it Now

Seats and door panels dont match.
I see nothing that points to custom trim option.
Whats up with the note about bulletin agreement dated July 30,1968?

That bulletin shows up on about every year model invoice when the new model cars are first coming out and going to dealers .
They can't sell the cars until a certain date that allows time for distribution to occur to other potential dealers. But they can display them until that date.

One of my 70 GTO's had that.
Usually cars built in August through mid-September have it listed.
I'm not sure what the -okay to sell it now- date was.

The trim tag build date would be worth noting on that Bird but they didn't post it.
The agreement bulletin joined with the 100001 VIN is probably how the Pontiac show/display story got fabricated.

*Unless the build date precedes by good margin and there is another invoice to support it.*
*Or a factory Buildsheet to support it being tagged as PMD Marketing/Display*
This appears to be Invoice #1 for this Bird

I wonder if that is supposed to be a Jim Wangers or Jim Mattison signature on the Bird Invoice.

Somewhere in my documents I have a build sheet for a 67 400 that
I found AFTER I cut it up.
It was a very low body #(Im thinking #3 maybe?)
Note said something like prep for show in San Fransisco
I think it was Jan 67.
I found the build sheet in the rear seat cushion.
If I had known this I would have saved it,but that was at least 45 yrs ago.
This was a red/black custom trim,400/400.
When I run across the build sheet I ll post.

That would be a really cool Buildsheet to share.
Too bad about the car biting the dust.

Remember back then we discounted or discarded anything that wasnt RA or really special.
I considered ones with Automatic trans less than desirable,
Had several Sprints that were factory AC(even 4 speed 67 Firebird) A bodies with AC were
only worth saving for AC stuff.Wish I had a crystal ball.

When I combed the Pick-A-Part yards in Riverside CA back in the mid 80's, they were just cars. I'd say I saw 2 GTO's for every Firebird, but they were there. The real trove of engine parts and rims came from the Grand Prixs. #13 heads and XH blocks complete were very common. The one that got away was a 69 Lemans with a red interior. It was perfect, and I just didn't have enough time to pull out what I wanted and it was gone the next day. Then there was the 71 Ram Air Formula 4-speed with the functional Ram Air hood. I didn't take it, because it had cracked ribs near the windshield. What a dumbass... it haunts me.

Here's a rerun 68 Firebird convertible that just keeps running over and over in Texas. Ended 4 times anywhere from $16.5K to $22.8K. Really nice interior in this car. Would make a great project start.
