There was a guy in South Carolina who was buried in his 1973 Catalina.

That plexiglass coffin sure makes the whole thing extra creepy. Let someone else have your stuff when you die - your car/motorcycle deserves better than getting buried and having you rot away on the seats.

I guess they made it Plexiglas so the worms, beetles and moles have something to look at.

LOL.. yeah it could be. But..... at least you could say you took it with you. Unless the family says no way and keeps it above ground and tells you to go to hell all by yerself.

I thought it was rather selfish myself, I wonder if he shared his toys as a kid.

I'm not waiting till I die, I'm giving my street GTO to my 18 year old son for graduation this year and my 20 year old has my '68 Firebird. Both cars they grew up dreaming of owning. I want to enjoy them with them.

While reviewing a client's death certificate a while back, I saw that it noted the body was cremated by "Lowest Cost Cremation Service." I thought that was a great idea, so I told the wife that's what I wanted too. "Just toss the ashes somewhere nice." It's not like I'll be around to notice anything, anyways...

They don't teach the kids to drive a stick in school any more so I taught my daughter to drive one & when I'm gone she gets my 73 GTO to do with what she want. By that time it will be worth enough that she can make a good score from it or make all the other boy jealous of her having it. But it will be hers when I can't drive it any more & she knows that. I can't drive it when I'm gone so she can have some fun with it.

My 8 year old son has dibs on my 68 Firebird. Somehow HE decided that he gets it when he turns 18. Sad to say I don't think I'm just going to be ready to give the car to him unless I have another car to cruise.
As far as what happens to me after I die, I am a Veteran and there is a brand new Veteran's cemetary that recently opened in Washington's Crossing PA which is about 1/2 hour from where I live. All I ask from my wife and kids is that I be buried there because I've earned the right. I don't need a gold plated casket or any of that other crap.

What a waste of a beautiful bike that could have served as a memento for the family or sold off to help the grandkids go to college. My stuff is willed to good friends who are hard core car people. Classic vehicles are meant to be enjoyed by the living.

I think they should have used sunglasses so he wouldn't look asleep at the helm.

Heard later someone tried to grave rob him, not sure if true or not but wouldn't doubt it. Couple of others who have been mounted on their bikes for viewing....think they were on PY before.... Last edited by JLHarper; 02-02-2014 at 04:49 PM. |

He probably anticipated that, hence the guns.
