Default 1966 gto aluminum radiator

First post!
Wow, I have absolutly no Idea how I could have been restoring my car for this long and not have found this site, its a godsend. I found it yesterday and registered as soon as I read a few threads.
Anyways, I have seen a few posts on aftermarket aluminum radiators and where to find them, but not specifically for a 66 (although i expect similar answers) Where can i get one for $200 that has an internal trany cooler and fits in the stock location with rubber mounts. There has to be one out there. I work at an aftermarket auto parts supplier and we sell 130 $ radiators (no trany cooler) allday. There is no way that you have to spend 560 on a radiator that slips in, direct replacement. I have seen the Rodney Reds and they are beautiful pieces, 560 is a full new interior for my car and i can't reason spending that on a radiator when i sell 150 dollar ones all day. Also, I don't want a "Universal radiator that is only given by measurements, application specific, would you put a "universal" radiator on your goat? Thanks, josh.

Welcome to the boards! Always great to have another member and a fellow '66 owner. I have a '66 GTO Post Coupe and installed a Rodney Red aluminum radiator with tranny cooler. It fit on the stock mounts but was more than $200. It was a great investment and made a world of difference.

i see you are stuck with the incorrect thermostat housing as i am too right now. What hose did you use that one seems to fit perfect.

I doubt you'll find a radiator that meets all of your criteria at less than or even close to $200. Supply and demand. It is a $40 year old car and there is little demand in the big scheme of things for parts for these dinosaurs. I paid less than $200 for the one for my Ford truck, and it is a nice aluminum radiator, but I'll venture to guess that there are 1000 '90 Ford pickups running today for every 1 vintage GTO.

A lot of folks use the generic crossflow Griffins, Be Cools etc in their downflow cars, but they won't bolt into the stock supports. It's not to hard to make them work though.

I went with a RR on my '66, and I am happy with it. No issues.

I just put in a universal crossflow and the stock mounting worked just fine.

i'll probably just get the old one repaired and start saving i guess. Sucks to be in college with no finacial support. Work to pay for school, book, rent, food, and get to sit in the unfinished gto and dream.
