Default Headers for BBC in 2nd Gen F-Body:

Who makes the best fitting (No mod) headers for a BBC in a 2nd Generation Firebird???

Car currently has a 455 with nice Hedman Headers and I need to find a set for the 427 Chevrolet that will fit the 4-speed and backdrive linkage without hacing everything up. This is a side project and your advice is appreciated.

Thanks...Robert 10851man@gmail.com

I am using hooker compitition headers. The ones for a chevelle work if you are using smaller diameter tubes. The super comp conversion headers are 2" primarys. the standard comps are 1 5/8 primarys. the smaller ones work fine up to @6800 rpm then the motor will run out of power.

I would think and major brand (Hooker, Hedman etc) makes a decent fitting set. Just order for a Camaro chassis.

They do and the fit is basically the same. When i put mine together i got the headers second hand. So in my case a few bucks saved for a new set of second hand headers was still a few extra dollars in my pocket.
