Default Today's Project:

I am helping Dad install a 502 BBC crate motor in a 1970 Firebird today. I pulled the 455, changed out the bellhousing and have the engine ready to go back in. The car had the Heddman #28150 Headers on it and I am curious if anyone can comment on how the Heddman headers for the BBC will fit.

The customer included Hooker Super Comps and I already see (3) places that look like they will interfere with the chassis.

Installation is on hold pending feedback. Thank you all very much for your input...Robert

Can't say, but.... seeing as that you have that boat anchor Pontiac taking up space, I'd be happy to remove it for you-- NO CHARGE!!!

Sounds like a stupid customer. The heddman headers fit tight in a camaro, might even need bfh in a couple spots. Make sure to change the front body clip to a camero too, because that's all the firebird will be with the bbc in it. Another worthless ugly camero.

Rtanner,

We ended up using a Hedman header for the BBC in a Camaro. Fit was good. No hammer required...:-)

Say it aint so...you don't have faith a 12:1 H-beam rod 455 with Lloyd Elliott ported heads 72cc D-ports a 255/262 .520" Crower solid cam with a Street Dominator intake and 1-3/4" headers. Coupled to the 4-spd and 2.41 gears....180 mph = 5600 rpm....

Is this going to be the 4" stroke 440 ci setup for the 69 Bird or a 4.25" stroke motor for the Formula ?
