Default 1956 Master Cylinder Upgrade

Anyone upgraded a master cylinder on a 56 Chieftain? I'm looking to swap out the single reservoir for a dual but not sure where to start or where a dual reservoir could be located. Is getting rid of the heater box the only option and what's involved in this kind of upgrade?

Try looking in the 60 & older tech section, and use the advanced search function (look for the Search button in the header at the top of the page). I think this sort of topic has come up before for 1950s Pontiacs but don't recall when, it was some time ago.
