Default Door Edge Guards

My 66 GTO came with PHS papers from the previous owner. All options matched up except my car had door edge gaurds that were not listed on the billing card. Fortunately my car came with its original warranty book with all the numbered coupons filled out by service people and signed by the original owners wife. the back of each slip has a section for notes. on the back of slip #2 hand written by a mechanic for Doten Pontiac it states " touch up paint chips door, install door edge gaurds. I was very glad that this little book came with my car..

Default 67 GTO

My mistake... I don't know why I put that as a m21... must have been thinking of the 65 3x2's with 3.90's and the m21... oops..

I'd be interested in seeing the data plates from some of those "spec" coded cars... After 6 years of searching, I've come across 2 other 67's with a "zero" for a paint code and one other 66.. All of which came from the Kansas City plant. Can you post some pictures??

I just got the PHS docs back for my '66 Hdtp, along with a copy of the window sticker.

It originally came with Tripower, 4spd, 3.55 saf t track, front & rear floormats, soft ray windshield, am/fm, rear speaker, rally guage cluster w/tach, console, and deluxe wheelcovers and it was delivered to Bob Neill Pontiac in Winston Salem, NC

Most of this was already known, but I wanted the docs to prove it.

If anyone remembers my original post, I had stated that my father had added many options to this car including:A/C, Power steering, Walnut shift knob, Wood wheel, Exhaust tips, power windows, all soft ray glass, and map/reading lamps. There is also 1969 Grand Prix single piston Disc brakes on it.

A few other options were in the trunk: vacuum trunk release, lighted ignition switch, and transistorized ignition distributor. For some reason, I am having trouble uploading pics to my site tonight, so I hope these display properly. They are pics of the lighted ign switch.

I had a 69 GTO convertible with Arctic wiper blades and I found a NOS set for my 67 Ram Air 4-speed convertible sold new in Canada.

My 67 hardtop has a mixed bag of options. I guess the only really rare one is the roof rail/reading lights. The ones that didn't survive until now are the black vinyl top, the AM radio w/ pushbuttons, the custom sports steering wheel, and the Wide Oval tires...white, not red. It has new Mariner Turquoise paint--original color--with the original turquoise interior. It has the original drive-train: YZ-code HO engine, TH 400 w/ Hurst, 3.23 Safe-T-Track. It has a-c, Soft Ray glass all around, Rally II wheels, Rally gauges and tach, vanity mirror, remote mirror, power steering, and power brakes. The other odd thing is the choice of lighting choices: under-hood, ignition/starter, trunk? Yes. Glove box? No. Go figure, right?

Anyway, the restoration is coming along nicely, and she's a blast to drive...just loves to run.

my 67 gto is an original XM block 2barel column shift drivetrain. it also has a/c, front bench seat, and am/fm/8track. not much muscle next to you guys but i love it to death. untouched and drives like a dream. we also hooked my dads old plastic skully on the back deck to the brakes/directionals. one must amuse oneself. soon to be cameo/black top again. i would further debate that the front bench seat was the most desirable option available. at least i recall saying that when there were still drive-in movie theaters here. there will be more muscle in the next gto however.

Question: Manifold Vacuum gauges, how were the offered in 66 on GTOs? Were they rare-ish?

My girl's uncle was hunting and found a vacuum gauge in a dodge (no joke, it says PONTIAC on the guage), so he plucked it out and gave it to me.
