It has that capability. Mine is not.

Seems I have everything but the "shifter porch". I think my clutch upgrade didn't happen either. I got what was quoted originally. Email sent....

I'm the installer.

I got the car up on jackstands last night and I'm going to start taking it apart over the next few days. I'm reasonably mechanical and completely untrained. I have no experience with a clutch, at all. I can use one, but have never installed or replaced one. I've had the auto trans out of the car a few times, so I can take it apart and put it back together like that. We'll see if I can put it back together differently. I personally believe I can. I'll also be doing my 1st welding since I was 13 years old.

I'm excited.

sooooooo......it seems that my tunnel hump is "on back-order".
The only area in the paperwork I received with my order that mentioned back orders was blank. After a little bit of checking last night I discovered that the manual trans tunnel hump was missing. I sent of an email to Chris at 8:45 this morning asking him to check on it and the $200 worth of clutch upgrade I was promised. 5 hours and no reply so I sent an email to Shafi asking him to check in to it. I hit reply all and that sent it to Shafi, Ron and Chris. Like a miracle Chris emailed me quickly and said that the tunnel hump was on back-order and that he'd defer to Shafi on the $200.
How ------- hard would it be to note in the paperwork that a part was back-ordered......?

Refer to my earlier post about installing the TKO. Start with no mods to the floor pan and install the bell housing with no clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate or disc. You will have this in and out about a dozen time. Install the tranny and slowly jack it up until you hit your first interference. I used a body saw to run a slit up the middle of the tunnel and pried the tunnel apart until I got my clearance that I needed. I made up a pie shaped wedge and spot welded in the tunnel. Worked well and no huge patches. I made my own custom porch up because the factory porch is useless with the tunnel mods. nothing some card board, tape and a welder won't fix.

I plan on doing a trial fit, in the manner of your suggestion, before I touch a thing. I don't want to cut any more than needed. My body bushings are pretty fresh, that may help with clearance.
Are you using a factory console?
Is your car originally an auto or manual?

All advice and any suggestions are and will be appreciated.

I made a little progress tonight. Taking the remaining sound deadening off the tunnel is going to be a sloooow job.

David,
I have a 70 GTO I am doing this conversion on. My car started out as a 4spd car. I have the engine out for a rebuild. I attached my trany to a bare block and installed with out cross member under the car. I have the luxuary of working on a lift. I blocked up the trany close to the floor and started marking. Got the floor cut out so my trany fit. I then bolted down the original shift porch and I took another porch that I had and screwed it to the one bolted down so it would clear the trans. I then took some 16ga (?) sheet metal and cut to the general shape cut out ( semi pie shape) and strarted shaping and screwing down to floor. Its all screwed tight , everything cleaned and ready to weld in this weekend. My car did not come with a consell and I am not puting one in so the shift porch was very important as its what I screw the shift boot too. Any way going well.
My brother had the tunnel patch from Hurst Drive Line and its nothing more than a rolled piece of sheet metal, I would not wait for the back order.
Good luck.

Thank you GW. I'm told and I've read that auto cars have a different tunnel. I don't truly know if the whole tunnel is different or if it's simply the addition of the porch? No matter. Keisler supplies the piece of sheet metal you see in the upper photo. They also supply a paper template to use as a cutting pattern. I'm going to try and ease into what needs to come out versus the worst case scenario of just taping the template down and cutting away. If worst case is where it ends up I'm good with that. When I pass on, the next caretaker can put it back......

I've called Keisler-twice, and left a voicemail also e-mailed them and gotten no response. Apparently they're not real interested in selling any more units.
