Default Remote mirror control placement.

Hey everyone wondering if y'all could help. My 69 Firebird with std interior is supposed to have a remote mirror from the factory according to the PHS.
It had a std mirror when I bought it and want to install the remote.
I took the door panel off hoping to find a perforation in the cardboard but no luck.
I scoured the internet but haven't found much for a 69 with remote mirror.
Anyone have any pics where the remote end mounts in the door panel maybe some measurements?
Thanks all. Anxiously awaiting your response

I just searched the forums and found some old posts. I may just leave the std mirror for now. Wait and go to some local Pontiac shows . But if any of you have a 69 remote mirror std. Int. bird please send pics of outside and controller on door panel

pics of mirror

Found a pic of door panel with hole for mirror control...
It is the custom trim molded panel not the standard trim flat panel.

I could have missed it but looking thru the 69 Assembly manual it has nothing.
In the index it lists remote mirror but page # is missing.
Looking thru the body section comes up with nothing.

I looked through my saved pics of remote mirrors and found these 3 shots labeled as being of a '69 remote mirror controller. I don't remember where the pics came from.

I have a 69 ragtop with factory installed remote mirror and standard interior. This is the only pic I have but I'll take a close up one and post it later. You will need the upper bright metal mouldings as remote mirror cars with standard interiors use a 2 piece version of this molding.

Thanks!

Btw, this arrangement must have annoyed dealers somewhat. The dealer installation of a remote mirror option was probably the most common one they did in those years. It was cheap and easy to install, and it was easy for a customer to appreciate the benefit of not having to turn down the window every time you needed to adjust the mirror or if it moved when you slam the door etc.

But, when you look at this arrangement, you can see how this was it much less viable situation. Now, instead of just ordering the little box with the mirror and the appropriate gaskets and fasteners, he would have to order the two moldings that run across the top of the door to replace the single one that was installed on a non-remote application. Apart from this additional cost, I suspect that even the holes on the door panel that receive the upper molding would need holes in different locations for the retention pins that are folded over to hold the molding in place.
