NC already responded, showing that your 100% was more like 20%.
When I read that, I already knew you weren't considering the type shop I used for fixing my keyless door popper system and installing my Dakota Digital dash in my wife's Camaro. They were specialists in old cars. Would I take my old car to Best Buy (or equivalent)? Heck no! Did the shop I use charge more than a common stereo/alarm installer? Heck, yeah. Was it worth it? Heck yeah. |

Growing up in Ohio there aren't a lot of classic car shops or hot rod shops that specialize in that type of work.
That is I should say in comparison to what is out here in Arizona. We are literally peppered with hot rod shops out here. For every one I could find in Ohio there are 5 more here in Arizona. I would imagine it's still that way back East so your pickins are slim. Out here competition is thick so if the shop lacks quality and workmanship it's not going to stick around long. There's way too much competition for that. Most shops out here seem to be pretty good overall. I've toured a bunch of them and know a few working in the industry here, even have done some work for them at my own shop. Many of your high dollar 6 and even 7 figure builds are coming out of these shops in Arizona. I think it really comes down to the area you live in. I would have to guess living in a state like Montana or North Dakota for instance wouldn't produce too many, (if any) custom hot rod shops on a top ten list. So if you find one you're happy with, support it as much as you can, it's a tough business. |

I live in relatively rural southern MN.
Even in flyover country, people like old cars. And there are qualified people to work on old cars. You just have to look for them. |

I don’t have the door panels or all the interior in the car yet so it doesn’t really matter who installs it.
