Media blasting would work if you have good aim (there's a risk you might hit the paint), but since it's not visible when it's assembled, you could just sand or steel wool better ground for the contact. Or then there's my favorite solution:
http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-s-g...dissolver.html Comes in gel or liquid. Use it over and over and over. Wipe it down with a little WD40 afterward to keep it from re-rusting. |

Clutch head bit
Got mine at an Ace Hardware store $1.29.
I fold up the package and keep it in the steering wheel hub. (I hope the judges at pebble beach don't look in there)

Just clean out the splines. The horn contact doesn't touch that rusty metal.

It turns out the SD tempests had the deluxe wheel so that is good enough for me.

I'm interested in what ever mint standard wheel horn parts I can find. Want a bare bones look in one of the wagons.

I've got it in mind to put a custom wheel in an original style '63 wagon build I've got going now. Quote from Dennis at Quality Restoration today was $1,400 plus shipping. That's a big pill to swallow for a steering wheel -- but it would be a sweet addition to tri-color 208 (blue) trim, buckets and auto floor shifter.

Can't justify the cost based on the market. It's not a car I'll keep long after it's finished. Will have to find another reason, if it's to happen.
Note the cost increase. Dennis must be feeling Obama's pinch -- |
