Default Pilot bearing

I just installed the pilot bearing in my engine and I want to make sure I didn’t mess anything up. I used marvel mystery oil and then tapped it in with a light hammer. Does it hurt the thrust or anything when you do it like that? I used a socket the size of the bushing and hit it about six times

its a good idea to freeze the pilot bearing before tapping it in....also you should trial fit it on your tranny input shaft in case its tight

Highly recommended. I ran into an issue re-installing my T-10 recently because all the pilot bearings I tried were not slipping on the end of the input easily. Trans would have never went in if I didnt find this out.

Not missing by much but had to "clean" the inside of the bearing with a fine stone on the dremel to have it slip on. Went through several bearings, different manufactures, one an old, NOS USA brand, same deal. Original one slipped right off.
