Default Wheel house

Working on a 67 vert. Lower Quarter is pretty bad in the back. That obviously has to be patched or replaced. I started poking on the inner well the other day and put a couple hole in the bottom rear inside so that's going to need work. It looks like they sell inner and outer wheel houses for the rear. Not sure I need both. I'm wondering if it might just be easier to cut he bad out and patch rather than replacing the whole piece? I haven't opened it up yet to look at the drop-offs so I'm not sure about them yet.

most of the time you can get just the outer wheelhouse and cut/patch

Yeah it's not much fun working on these. I have a 68 convert. On one side I used a repop inner wheelhouse with an NOS outer. On the opposite side, I patched both the inner and outer. It takes a lot of work to replace the entire inner and outer combo. The big issue is trying to make sure everything stays in place when you cut them out. I welded in temporary support bracing to make sure nothing shifted.

On the side that I patched, I found that the repop pieces varied quite a bit. The inner piece for that side was so far off that after I cut it up for patches, they wouldn't line up with the contours of the original. I ended up buying a different repop that was much closer to the original. Here is a link to the better one from CARS
