Default Passenger side speedo cable for Muncie

Hi Gang........I'm considering replacing my existing M21 with an Autogear Muncie, but they only have passenger side speedo.

What's involved in routing a longer cable on a '67 GTO?

George

I used a cable for a 65 Chevelle with an auto (pretty sure its 80-83" long) and was able to run it over the top of the bellhousing and down that way on my 65 LeMans, but more than one way to skin a cat.

No lots of cable so easy to work with just doesn’t look stock if that’s an issue.

The silver car (79) had an extension on the main cable. It crossed over under the bellhousing and was held up by a clamp under an inspection plate bolt.

The main cable by itself is long enough for drivers side speedo.

Won't the tail housing of your M21 fit the Autogear trans?

I just ran mine under the trans. It was tight.

I installed the Autogear M22W in my 67 and just added a speedometer cable extension. Ran it up and over the front of the tranny. Easy and works perfectly. Here's a picture and a link to the one I bought.

Never thought of swapping the tail housing...that's a good idea. The trans would be new tho........I guess if i was going to work on the existing one, I might as well rebuild it myself for half the price.....

The extended cable seems like a decent compromise, I just don't like it. I'd like an OD, of course but don't want to mess with the tunnel. I've been reading the OD threads too, no simple choice there either.
